1st Day Athens - Volos (Volos Archaeological Museum) - Agria Volos
Gathering early in the morning and departure for the city of Jason and the Argonauts, Volos. Arrival and visit to the Athanasakeion Archaeological Museum, one of the oldest in our country and central in Thessaly, housed in the magnificent neoclassical building of 1909. . Then, early arrival and settling in at our hotel since it is very central. Free time for an individual walking tour of the coastal part of the city, to enjoy our coffee and lunch. Rest and in the afternoon we will take a coach ride to Agria Volos, 20 minutes from our hotel. Many tsipouro restaurants on the beach will be waiting for us to taste exquisite meze accompanied by the unique tsipouro of the region. Return to our hotel Dinner and overnight stay.
2nd Day Volos - Milies - Tsagarada - Zagora - Chania – Volos
After breakfast departure for KALPAKI, visit to the war museum. We continue to KONITSA, which is located a stone’s throw from the peaks of GAMILA and SMOLIKA at an altitude of 600 m. stop. Then to the MONASTERY OF MOLYVDOSKEPASTA visit. Then to Central Zagori where through ANO PEDINA we will reach the picturesque village of ZAGORIA MONODENDRI which dominates the VIKOS gorge with the unique stone architecture of its buildings, stay, lunch. (Through a short hike we can visit the Monastery of AG. PARASKEVI where from its small balcony we will see with our breath the eerie spectacle of the VIKOS gorge, one of the largest and deepest gorges in the world). Return to IOANNINA with an optional trip to the ISLAND of Pamvotida, which is an integral part of the city’s history since it has been linked to the history and death of Ali Pasha. The island is surrounded by eight monastery complexes. We will visit the most important one, the Monastery of Agios Panteleimonas, where in its cells the holes from the bullets that were fired at Ali Pasha and killed him are preserved. We will walk through the picturesque streets with the excellent examples of folk art and the traditional sweets of Ioannina where we will be able to shop. The rest of the day is free to walk around the city. Dinner. Overnight.
3rd day : IOANNINA- METSOVO –ATHENS
After breakfast, another beautiful route leads us to our first stop - our acquaintance, in the picturesque Metsovo, built at an altitude of 1150m. in the Pindos mountain range. Unique architectural buildings made of stone and wood, with the traditional Metsovo architecture, picturesque alleys, sights such as the Tositsa Mansion, the Averof Art Gallery, etc., as well as the unique products of their production, make Metsovo one of the most popular destinations in our country. Then, with a stop on the way in Kalambaka for lunch, we return to Athens and the points at which we embarked.
