Day 1 :
ΑTHENS– ΙOANNINA – PAMVOTIDA ISLAND
Departure in the morning at 7.00 and with one stop on the way, we arrive at the Rio-Antirrio suspension bridge. Crossing it and via Ionia Road, we arrive at the coastal Menidi, where we will stay for lunch (optional). Then, passing Arta, we arrive at Bizani, Ioannina, where the Pavlos Vrellis Wax Museum is located. We will visit the very interesting Museum at our own expense. We continue to Ioannina and optionally we will have the rest of the day free to walk around the city. Dinner follows at our hotel and overnight stay.
Day 2 :
IOANNINA– ΖAGOROCHORIA – ΜΟΝΟDENDRI– VIKOS RAVINE
After breakfast departure for KALPAKI, visit to the War Museum. We continue to KONITSA, which is located a stone’s throw from the peaks of GAMILA and SMOLIKA at an altitude of 600 m. stop. Then visit to the MONASTERY OF MOLYVDOSKEPASTI. Then to Central Zagori where through ANO PEDINA we will reach the picturesque village of ZAGORI, MONODENDRI, which dominates the VIKOS gorge with the unique stone architecture of its buildings, overnight stay, lunch. (Through a short hike we can visit the Monastery of AGIOS PARASKEVIS where from its small balcony we will see with our breathless eyes the eerie spectacle of the VIKOS gorge, one of the largest and deepest gorges in the world). Return to IOANNINA with an optional visit to the ISLAND of Pamvotida, which is an integral part of the city’s history as it has been linked to the history and death of Ali Pasha. The island is surrounded by eight monastery complexes. We will visit the most important, the Monastery of Agios Panteleimonas, where in its cells the holes from the bullets that were fired at Ali Pasha and killed him are preserved. We will walk through the picturesque streets with the excellent examples of folk art and the traditional sweets of Ioannina where we will be able to shop. The rest of the day is free for walking around the city. Dinner, overnight stay.
Day 3 :
ΙOANNINA - ΜΕΤSOVO – ΑTHENS
After breakfast, another beautiful route leads us to our first stop - our acquaintance, in the picturesque Metsovo, built at an altitude of 1150m. in the Pindos mountain range. Unique architectural buildings made of stone and wood, with the traditional Metsovo architecture, picturesque alleys, sights such as the Mansion of Tositsas, the Averoff Art Gallery, etc., as well as their unique products, make Metsovo one of the most popular destinations in our country. Then, with a stop on the way in Kalambaka for lunch, we return to Athens and the points at which we embarked.
